What the Geo Tag can do

🔒

Nothing is uploaded

Reading and writing GPS happens entirely in your browser using ExifTool compiled to WebAssembly. Your photos never touch a server, so it is safe even for private or sensitive images.

🗺️

Tag by map, coordinates, or address

Click a point on the interactive map, type decimal or DMS coordinates, or search a place or street address to drop your photos anywhere on Earth.

🧹

Remove GPS or wipe all EXIF

Strip just the location tags, or erase every EXIF and XMP field, across a whole batch in one click to protect your privacy before sharing.

📦

Real tags, many formats

Writes genuine EXIF and XMP GPS data to JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and HEIC, plus 10 RAW formats including ARW, CR2/CR3, NEF, DNG, and more.

🎲

Randomize within a radius

Give each photo a unique random point within a radius of a spot, or scatter them across the current map view, for privacy or variety.

💾

Download as ZIP or to a folder

Save each file on its own, download a ZIP that keeps your folder structure, or write the whole batch straight to a folder on Chrome and Edge.

How it works

1

Drop your photos

Drag in photos or whole folders (JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC, RAW). Any existing GPS is read and shown on the map so you can see where each shot was taken.

2

Pick a location or strip GPS

Click the map, enter coordinates, or search an address to geotag, or choose Strip GPS or Strip all metadata to clean the files.

3

Download your photos

Apply the change and download each file, a structured ZIP, or save the whole batch to a folder. Your originals are left untouched.

Frequently asked questions

Is this geotag tool free?

Yes. There are no watermarks and every photo is processed right in your browser with nothing uploaded. Everyone gets a few free runs; a free account tops you up to 100 tokens a month.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Reading and writing GPS and EXIF happens locally using ExifTool compiled to WebAssembly. Your photos never leave your computer, which makes it safe for private or sensitive images.

How do I remove the GPS location from a photo?

Load your photos, then choose Strip GPS to remove only the location tags, or Strip all metadata to wipe every EXIF and XMP field. Download the cleaned copies as a ZIP or one at a time.

Which photo formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and HEIC, plus 10 RAW formats (ARW, CR2/CR3, NEF, RAF, DNG, ORF, RW2, PEF, SRW). It writes real EXIF and XMP GPS tags, the same as a desktop tool.

Can I geotag a whole batch at once?

Yes. Set one location for every photo, pin photos individually on the map, or randomize each within a radius, then apply the change and download the entire batch together.

Will this change my original files?

No. It writes to copies and leaves your source files untouched, so you download new tagged or stripped versions. You can also press Ctrl+Z to undo the last action in the list.
