Free Screen Recorder — Record, Download & Share by Link
Record your full screen, one window, a browser tab, or just a cropped region of your screen — with your microphone, your computer's sound, or both mixed together. A live stage shows your exact 1920×1080 output the whole time, OBS-style, and you can put yourself in the video too: a camera bubble (circle, square, or widescreen) you can drag anywhere in the frame, even mid-recording — or flip to camera-only and just talk. When you stop, the video is ready instantly: download it as a file, or save it and share a link anyone can watch, Loom-style. The recording happens 100% in your browser with nothing to install.

What the Screen Recorder can do
Screen, window, tab — or a region
Capture a whole monitor, a single app window, or one browser tab. Or pick Region and drag a crop box over the live preview so only that exact area lands in the video.
Mic, computer sound, or both
Choose your microphone (with a device picker), capture the sound your computer is playing, or mix both together — perfect for narrating over gameplay, a demo, or a video call.
Nothing to install, no watermark
It runs on your browser's own screen-capture engine — no extension, no desktop app, no watermark stamped over your footage, and no time-limit nag.
Share it with a link, Loom-style
Save a recording to your free account and get a clipcraft.ai link anyone can open and watch — no download needed on their end. Links are unlisted by default; you control public/unlisted/private per video.
Download MP4 or WebM
Grab the file the moment you stop — MP4 where your browser can record it, WebM otherwise — ready for editing, uploading, or attaching. Downloading needs no account at all.
Put yourself in the video
Turn on the camera bubble and you appear right in the recording — drag yourself anywhere on the live stage (even mid-take), pick a circle, square, or widescreen shape and three sizes. Or choose Camera mode and record just yourself, no screen at all.
How it works

Full screen, a window, a tab, a cropped region, or just your camera — plus your mic, your computer's audio, and an optional draggable camera bubble of you.
Record
A quick 3-2-1 countdown, then it's rolling. Switch to whatever you're recording; pause and resume as you need. Hit Stop when you're done.
Download or share
Preview the take instantly, download the video file, or save it to get a share link anyone can watch in their browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is the screen recorder free?
Yes. Recording, previewing, and downloading all run free in your browser with no watermark. Everyone gets a handful of free runs; a free ClipCraft account tops you up to 100 tokens a month (a recording session is 2 tokens) and unlocks saving recordings and sharing them by link.
Does my recording get uploaded anywhere?
Not unless you ask it to. The capture and encoding happen entirely on your device with the browser's MediaRecorder — download the file and nothing ever leaves your computer. Only if you click “Save & get share link” is the finished video uploaded to your account so the link works for other people.
How does sharing by link work?
Save a recording (free account required) and you get a clipcraft.ai/v/… link. Anyone who opens it can watch the video right in their browser and download it — like Loom. Links are unlisted by default (only people with the link can find it); you can flip a recording to public or private anytime, and deleting it kills the link. Saved videos count against your account's storage.
Can it record my microphone and computer sound at the same time?
Yes. Tick both boxes and the tool mixes your mic and your computer's audio into one track. System audio comes through when you share a browser tab or a full screen and tick “Share audio” in the browser's picker — sharing a single app window doesn't carry audio in most browsers.
Can I record just part of my screen?
Yes — choose Region, share a screen, and drag a crop box over the live preview. Only the area inside the box is recorded, at its native resolution. It's great for cropping out bookmarks, docks, and second-monitor clutter.
Can I record myself with my webcam at the same time?
Yes — tick “Camera bubble” and you appear in a round overlay that's burned right into the recording, Loom-style. Drag the bubble anywhere on the live preview while you record, and switch it between three sizes. There's also a Camera mode that records just you — no screen — for intros, updates, and talking-head clips.
What format is the video, and is there a time limit?
MP4 (H.264) where your browser can record it — current Chrome and Edge can — otherwise WebM, which every modern browser and editor opens. There's no recording time limit; the practical cap is the 256 MB per-file limit when saving to a share link (roughly 6–8 minutes at screen quality — longer recordings can always be downloaded instead).
