What the MooCrunch Image Converter can do

🔒

Nothing is uploaded

Every image is decoded, compressed, and re-encoded entirely in your browser. Your photos never touch a server, so even sensitive images stay completely private.

🗜️

Smart batch compression

Drop a whole batch and each file auto-compresses on load, showing original vs. new size and the % saved with a running total. If a re-encode would be bigger, it keeps the original bytes and marks it Optimal.

🔄

WebP, AVIF, PNG & JPEG

Convert to modern formats with the same codecs pro tools use — Chrome's libwebp for WebP, jSquash MozJPEG for JPEG, and libaom for AVIF — so quality holds up while file sizes drop.

🎛️

Squoosh-style Custom view

Open any image for a live before/after slider, zoom and pan, and Quality and Width sliders. Dial in one image, then Apply to All to push those settings across the whole batch.

📁

Folders in, ZIP out

Drag entire folders (recursively) and download everything at once as a ZIP that keeps your folder structure or flattens it. You can also grab a backup ZIP of the originals.

🖼️

Handles HEIC, TIFF & more

Reads PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and even iPhone HEIC/HEIF and SVG files, then converts them to a web-friendly format — perfect for prepping AI-generated art and camera exports.

How it works

1

Drop your images

Drag in files or whole folders, or use Choose Files / Choose Folder. Each image auto-compresses the moment it loads.

2

Pick a format and tune

Choose Compress only, WebP, AVIF, PNG, or JPEG. Open the Custom view to fine-tune quality and width, then Apply to All.

3

Download your results

Save any image on its own, or hit Download All for a ZIP. Everything is saved straight from your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is MooCrunch free to use?

Yes. MooCrunch runs entirely in your browser to convert and compress your images, with nothing to install. Everyone gets a few free runs; a free account tops you up to 100 tokens a month.

Does it upload my images anywhere?

No. Every image is decoded, processed, and re-encoded on your own device using in-browser codecs. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your files stay 100% private.

Which formats can I convert to?

You can convert to WebP, AVIF, PNG, or JPEG, or use Compress only to shrink an image while keeping its current format. Inputs can be PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, or SVG.

Should I use WebP or AVIF?

AVIF usually produces the smallest files at a given quality, which is great for the web. WebP compresses fast and has slightly wider support across older software, so it's a safe default. Try both and compare the size and preview.

Can it convert iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. MooCrunch decodes HEIC/HEIF (and TIFF, GIF, and SVG) and lets you export them to WebP, AVIF, PNG, or JPEG so they'll open and share anywhere.

Can I compress a whole folder at once?

Yes. Drag in an entire folder and MooCrunch processes every image, then Download All packages the results into a ZIP that can keep your original folder structure or flatten it.
