What's New in ClipCraft: AI Director Edits, a Voice Generator & More
August 30, 2026 · 4 min read · by the ClipCraft team
August was the busiest month ClipCraft has ever had. The headline: VideoCraft can now edit your video for you. Here's everything that shipped, what it costs (spoiler: most of it is free or close to it), and where to find each piece.
✨ The AI Director: your video, edited by AI (beta)
Open VideoCraft, drop in your clips and a song, and press ✨ AI Edit. The AI Director actually watches your footage — it samples frames, reads what's in them, listens to your timeline audio — and then writes the edit: beat-synced cuts, animated captions, motion keyframes, kick-drum effects, and a finished structure with titles and an ending that lands on the music. It's in beta — brand new, improving fast, and we'd love to hear what it does with your footage.
Making a music video? The Director can transcribe your song and time the lyrics on screen word by word — or paste your own lyric sheet and it aligns them to the vocal. Six genre packs (plus a music-visualizer mode) set the look, and brand kits apply your colors, watermark, and end-card logo to every edit automatically.
Pricing is simple: the Director costs 100 tokens per started minute of video. If you'd rather stay hands-on, ⚡ Beat Cut slices your clips to the beat instantly, entirely in your browser, free for everyone — no account required.
🎙 The Voice Generator: any script, narrated
Paste a script into the Voice Generator, pick a voice, and download a clean narrated MP3. The Standard tier runs on our own server with 46 voices at 1 token per minute — that's effectively free, on every plan, even the free one. A Fast GPU tier renders the same voices in seconds, and the Premium and HD tiers add studio-grade voices with emotion control.
We use it ourselves: every lesson in Synth Academy (below) is narrated by the Standard tier's “Michael.” It's built for tutorials, explainers, faceless channels, and anywhere you need a voiceover without recording one.
🎬 Worth a look: the Screen Recorder
This one's been quietly getting better all month, and it deserves a spotlight: the Screen Recorder is a Loom-style recorder with zero install. Capture your full screen, a window, a tab, or a cropped region; drop your camera in as a draggable bubble; mix your mic with system audio; and get an MP4 — download it free, or save it and share by link. Countdown, pause/resume, and an OBS-style stage with image and video layers are all in there.
